Description
This is an Rare Vintage Movie Poster Sign.A gorgeous Tale of Charm and Adventure for the Young and old.Adapted by Bernard McConville Directed by C. M and S. A. Franklin Standard PicturesFrom what I understand, this is a movie sign that was used when the filmcame out for advertising purposes to draw people into the movie. They would set it out by the street in front of the theater.I am not sure if this is correct–but I think it was used on or around 1917 when the movie came out. Colors have faded some over the year. Wood is solid except for a split on the back.Has a spot for hanging–wire and screws (rings) which I am pretty sure are not original to this piece.
Measures 36″ tall and 25″ wide and is just over 2″ deep.We have 2 of these. This is the worse of the 2. The old slat wood frame on this one has a 7″ breakon the back left side at the bottom. It could be repaired easily if you wanted.
Comes with a C.O.A from Hollywood Prop Collector.
